Patsy Day

Patsy Day, Turtle Clan, Oneida Nation has come full circle as a survivor of “ the Sixties Scoop". Adopted at age seven to a non-native family and despite much hardship, by her late thirties she was able to reunite with her birth family. Patsy learned about her Haudenosaunee/ People of the Longhouse Woodland culture, studied the language and has earned a Masters of Education Degree with a focus on Indigenous Curriculum Development. She taught Primary/Junior students full time at Standing Stone School in her home community for a number of years, attended traditional ceremonies and reacquainted with her extended Oneida family. Patsy has worked with three District School Boards over fifteen years and gives presentations and workshops throughout Southwestern Ontario whenever she is invited to do so.
